Up until now, the primary purpose of this site was as a medium to market myself as a wedding photographer. However that is soon changing.
My "photography career" has taken a turn last year. The church which I go to, ECF, didn't have a photography ministry or department but really needed one. After talking with PC, our worship ministry pastor, I came on board to take on the leadership role.
We formed a small group of photographers and since then we have been shooting at various church events. However, as volunteers, the team has a lot to learn and grow in our photographic skills. And since I've ventured out to do weddings commercially, members of the team look to me to help them develop their skills.
So after thinking things through, I have decided to revamp this site and instead of using this to sell my services, I hope to share what I the little I know about photography in general with some emphasis on event photography -- something I feel is sorely lacking on the web at large.
I hope to use this as an additional platform to help build the team and do my part to help build the kingdom of God using photography.
So do come back in the next few weeks and months. I'll have more up once I have some bandwidth to work on some of the ideas I have.

As I mentioned in my last post, I was at the Charge Up Conference over the weekend. One of the other things which happened during the weekend was the wedding of Joey and Caroline which I sneaked out of the conference to attend. The wedding was great but while I wasn't the wedding photographer, seeing Caroline and her friends reminded me of a very interesting job I got last month, shortly before Chinese New Year. That was Caroline's bridal shower. It was a bit strange for me, being the only guy in the place, in a room full of ladies. About 15 of them! But it was a very unique and interesting experience. I mean ... how many guys can actually say they've been to a bridal shower!

Back in the month of January, while I did not shoot any weddings, I had the privilege and honor of working with the production of the latest worship album by 1 a.m. called 'SOLD OUT'. Finally after much anticipation, the album will be launched in April. There will be 2 launches. First on Saturday, 28th April at ECF (Eaglepoint Covenant Fellowship), Puchong ( map here). Then again the next day, Sunday, 29th April at the KDU College Main Auditorium. No, I didn't sing! That's for those of you who were wondering. But I did take the pictures which are used in the album. Something I am much better at! It was great working with all the people in the team. I learned a lot and it was an incredible experience! So I'm sure you're waiting to see some pictures. But you'll have to wait until the launch of the album. Until then, you can admire the cover art below designed by Max Kiat, a very talented and capable graphic designer. In the meantime, block out your time, write it in your schedule, call your friends and come make it for the launch of this truly fantastic album! I'll share more details on this happening event at a later date. See you there!

Here is another new set of photographs containing pictures of the wedding dinner of Kok Siong & Mindy. The dinner was held at Overseas Restaurant in Menara PGRM of Jalan Cheras Lama. It was a very simple affair with a relatively small crowd of family and friends. Since I was early, I took some time to catch some shots of the restaurant while waiting for the bride and groom to arrive. You can see that and some other moments from the dinner here: Kok Siong & Mindy

Earlier this month I shot some pictures of an interesting, fun and friendly couple from New Zealand. He's from Hong Kong and she's from Klang! Images in this album include picking up of the bride, some outdoor shots right outside Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa and the dinner at the West Lake Garden Restaurant in the Hotel later that day. This weekend I attended 2 workshops conducted by Ted Adnan, a local professional photographer, regarding flash photography. Not that I don't already know how to use my flash but I was looking for opportunities to learn and grow in my photography, not to mention network with other photographers. Below are some shots from the workshops of Zarith, the model, as well as some behind-the-scene shots of the set up of the lights in the studio. Ted Adnan's Flash Photography Workshop
